Main Post 6
An action film is commonly known as a genre involving heroes who are thrown in to challenges which often require bravery and courage to overcome the obstacles. There is commonly a villain whos role is to attempt to stop the hero from reaching thier goal. Hollywood have been making more action films than ever due to advancements of CGI effects. The genre is closely linked with thriller and adventure film genres and may sometimes include elements of spy fiction.
In the 1940's-50's the majority of action films made were based around the cowboy scene. These films later inspired the popular series of films based on Ian Fleming's James Bond novels.

MAIN TASK Post 4
Within our group it was decided that our action film should not be the typical car chases and fight scene style of film, and so we thought about types of films that we could relate to and also with the comedy genre ranking second in the questionnaire we would want a story line that could incorporate both a action and comedy. From this we decided that our film would be based around a teenage girl who decides to throw a large scale party in an attempt to gain popularity, however as the night goes on the party gets out of hand, leading to destruction, death and several missing people. The story line is based around a group of friends from the party attempting to discover the happenings of the night before, in hope to find their missing friend.
MAIN TASK Post 2
To gather information about poeple's preferences about films, we created a questionnaire that would provide us with both qualitive and quantative data.
From the pie chart it can be seen that the 'Action' genre was the most popular amongst the audience we asked. From this information we have been influenced to produce an opening sequence for a 'Action' style film.
Allowing us to gather more Qualititative date we asked:
"What do you want and expect to see in an opening sequence?"
We found that audience expect the following:
- Film title
- Cast and Crew
- Sightings of Characters
- Creates mood
- Sets the scene
- Make you want to watch the film
- Soundtrack
When asking about cinema attendance we found that most people go the the cinema around once a month and ususally with friends or family as opposed to strangers or on thier own.
